Das Bierhaus

Welcome to our authentic Bavarian brewery and beer hall!  Our goal is to recreate the traditional Bavarian beer hall experience that the people in Munich have cherished for centuries right here in the new world.  That means fresh, pure beer brewed by our Bavarian Braumeister according to the Reinheitsgebot of 1516.

We brew all the traditional Bavarian favorites using only the finest imported ingredients.  And we never pasteurize, just like in Bavaria, thus producing a product unsurpassed in quality and flavor.  All our beers are served in traditional 0.5 liter and 1.0 liter glasses and steins.

Get hungry drinking all the great beer?  Das Bierhaus also offers a selection of Bavaria's finest cuisine, such as hearty sausages, spiced camembert cheese and pork schnitzel sandwiches.

So either get a ticket to Munich or head on over to Das Bierhaus in downtown Menomonie, Wisconsin!

Welcome to Das Bierhaus

Our finest Bavarian beers include:

Pilsener:  it was in 1842 that a Bavarian brewermaster first brewed this classic beer style, today known throughout the world.  Unfortunately, it is often poorly copied, being created using adjunct grains like corn or rice, or worse yet, sugar cane or beets.  These adjuncts produce a beer without body, mouth feel or specific character.  Of course, we use only 100% barley malt.  Our Pilsener is everything that a true Pils should be: clear golden color with a dense white head, full of barley malt body and balanced with a perceptible noble hop bitterness.

DunklesYearn for a classic Bavarian dark?  Then come to Das Bierhaus.  Our Dunkles is brewed using only the finest roasted malts to give this lager its full dark color.  Rich and smooth, yet contains no more alcohol than our Pilsener!  The true classic from Munich with a subdued bitterness and roasty sweetness.

Märzen:  Often called "Festbier", this amber lager is actually the classic style from Vienna, Austria.  It has a bright copper color and a big body, but no obtrusive hop aroma as is often found in amber beers elsewhere.  Enjoyed so much by the people of Bavaria that it eventually replaced the Dunkles as the beer of choice at Munich's famed Octoberfest.

Hefeweizen:  Sometimes called "Hefeweissbier", this is the famous Bavarian ale served in tall, vase-shaped glasses.  "Weizen" means wheat and refers to the fact that this beer must contain at least 50% wheat malt in its grain bill.  "Hefe" means yeast and points out that the beer is unfiltered and cloudy, served in its natural state.  Our classic Hefeweizen has the traditional clove and banana taste, produced by specific esters during its warm fermentation.

Hefeweizen Dunkel:  A dark version of our Hefeweizen.  Full of roasted malt taste combined with the fruity esters produced during fermentation.  One of our specialties and one which is very hard to find outside of Bavaria.

Leichtbier:  This is a classic light lager beer with 40% fewer calories and alcohol than our other beers.  A combination of full flavor and refreshment with a beautiful golden hue.

Seasonal beers:  look for our Maibock, Köelsch, Altbier, Weizenbock and Doppelbock Dunkel!
